The Third Week

Generosity.

How important is it to be generous? I mean, you life is yours, afterall. Well I'd like to take a different approach. Since we live in societies now, it's pretty hard not to have your day in some way influenced by someone else. That is, you could go all day do things for yourself, but at some point, someone will make a decision that will impact you. It might be as simple as holding a door for you, or it could be as something as important as hiring you. However, you too have the power to impose your decisions on other lives. Doing nice things will not only do your conscious good, but some way or another, it will find its way back to you. Holding the door for the couple going into the movies could set off a chain reaction. They might, in turn, start holding the door open for other people, who could very well hold that door for you. But it doesn't stop there- they could be that person who pulls over on the side of the road to help you when your car breaks down. The challenge isn't how you can maximize your rewards by doing the fewing deeds of good, but to simply not thing about it and be pleasantly surprised each time someone returns the favor for you.
Try it, would ya?
